About the Recipe
Welcome to our kitchen, where we love to experiment with healthy and flavorful recipes! Today, we're introducing a unique twist on the classic dosa: Sorghum (Jowar) Dosa. Sorghum, also known as Jowar in Hindi, is a nutritious grain packed with essential nutrients. In this recipe, we'll be using sorghum flour along with rice flour to create a crispy and delicious dosa. The best part? Sorghum can be replaced with pearl millet (Bajra in Hindi) for another wholesome variation.
Ingredients
1 cup Jowar (Sorghum) flour
1/2 cup Rice flour
1 1/2 cups Water
Salt, to taste
Handful of chopped microgreens
Honey, for serving
Preparation
Step 1
In a mixing bowl, combine the Jowar flour, rice flour, and water. Stir well until you get a smooth and runny batter consistency, similar to dosa batter.
Step 2
Add salt to taste and mix again.
Step 3
Mix in the chopped microgreens into the batter and mix until evenly distributed.
Step 4
Heat a non-stick dosa pan or skillet over medium heat.
Step 5
Once the pan is hot, pour a ladleful of the batter onto the center of the pan.
Step 6
Using the back of the ladle, spread the batter in a circular motion to form a thin layer. Or you can use cup to pour in the batter on the pan and evenly spread while pouring.
Step 7
Drizzle a little oil around the edges of the dosa and cook until the bottom turns golden brown and crispy.
Step 8
Flip the dosa using a spatula and cook for another minute or two on the other side.
Step 9
Once both sides are cooked to perfection, remove the dosa from the pan and place it on a serving plate.
Step 10
Serve the Sorghum (Jowar) Dosa hot with a drizzle of honey on top.
Enjoy the wholesome and nutritious Sorghum Dosa, a delightful blend of flavors and textures!
